Abstract:
Objective To study the correlation between squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC-Ag) and cervical cancer stage and prognosis
Methods One hundred and sixty-four patients with cervical cancer admitted to our hospital in 2006-2009 were enrolled in this study.Correlation between positive SCC-Ag rate and cervical cancer stage and types was retrospectively analyzed before and after treatment
Results The positive SCC-Ag rate was obviously higher in cervical squamous cell carcinoma patients. The more advanced the stage of cervical cancer was,the higher the positive SCC-Ag rate was.The positive SCC-Ag rate was obviously lower after operation than before operation(P<0.05).The positive SCC-Ag rate was not significantly increased in cervical adenocarcinoma patients
Conclusion The positive SCC-Ag rate is positively correlated with cervical squamous carcinoma stage. The serum SCC-Ag level can be used as a severity index of cervical squamous carcinoma and its therapeutic effect.
