Abstract:
Objective: The purposeof this article is to analysisand sum up the clinicalapplication of allograft skin preserved by vitrification
Methods: The clinical data of burn patients from 1987 to 1999 which were treated by allograft skin preserved by vitrification in our department, were collected Then the clinical effects of allograft skin were summed up Also the domestic utilizationof allograft skin stored by our skin bank is analysised
Results: According to the burn patients treated by allograft skin preserved by vitrification, the average total burn area is 554%,the averageⅢ°area is 309%,the average area of applied allograft skin is 3466cm

2 The viability of thawed skin preserved by vitrification can reach to 70% of fresh skin The skin stored by this method can survive 2 months on the wound of burn patients The survival of skin after grafting can reach to 95%。Form 1987 to 1999 the cryopreserved skin of our skin bank have covered108 different grades hospitals distributing 48 towns and 8 counties of 18 provinces and 3 municipalities The total area of cryopreserved skin including those used by ourselvesis 3604260cm
2 Conclusion: The method of the coverage of burn wound with allograft skin preserved by vitrification is still the most effective, convenientand economy one among the treatments of burn patients Moreover this method is an universal treatment of burn in domestic hospitals
