Abstract:
Objective To study the prognostic factors for long-term survival of senile pancreatic cancer patients.
Methods Clinical parameters, treatment modalities and survival time of 112 senile pancreatic cancer patients were retrospectively studied, and their single and multiple prognostic factors were analyzed.
Results The follow-up found that the 1-,2-,3-year survival rate of the 92 patients was 20%,6% and 4%,respectively,with a median survival time of 5 months. The Kaplan-Meier curve for survival rate showed that the survival rate of patients at stagesⅠand Ⅱ was higher than that at stages Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P=0.001)and after radical operation than after palliative operation(P=0.000 1).The analysis of Cox multiple factors showed that TNM staging, surgical procedure, radiotherapy and chemotherapy were the independent prognosis factors for the long-term survival of senile pancreatic cancer patients, while gender, tumor site, smoking, drinking and diabetes mellitus were not correlated with their survival time.
Conclusion TNM stage, surgical procedure, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the important factors for the long-term survival of senile pancreatic cancer patients.
