Abstract:
Objective To study the related factors for coronary artery calcification.
Methods Seventy patients(50 males and 15 females) with coronary heart disease(CHD) were recruited in this study.Their coronary artery calcification was assessed by intravascular ultrasound-virtual histology(IVUS-VH) imaging.Correlation between coronary artery calcification and smoking, diabetes mellitus, serum uric acid, alkaline phosphatase, diastolic pressure were analyzed.
Results The coronary artery calcification was positively related with smoking, diabetes mellitus, serum uric acid, alkaline phosphatase(P<0.05) and negatively related with diastolic pressure(r=-0.160 6,P=0.041).
Conclusion Coronary artery calcification can be alleviated by improving life style and controlling blood pressure.
