Abstract: In order to improve the diagnosis and cure rate of early ARDS,28 cases with ARDSadmitted for treatment from Jan.1985 to Oct,1992 were analysed.There were 2 cases withmild ARDS and 4 moderate cases who were cured completely（recovery rate 100%）,but in the 22severe cases,only one （4.55%）was cured and rest all died （mortality 95.45%）.It suggests thatearly diagnosis is very important for the syndrome and treatment progress of this syndrome isalso discussed.
