Abstract:
Objective: To use pedicled rib flap for repair of the defect of tracheal side wall.
Methods: 17 patients underwent repair of tracheal side wall and tracheal reconstruction by pedicled rib flap.
Results: There wasn’t tracheal stricture in 15 patients after surgery. 2 patients with postoperative tracheal stricture were treated by expandable intraluminal stent.
Conclusion: The technique using pedicled rib flap for repair of the defect of tracheal side wall is a simple, safe and effective procedure.
