Abstract: Ketoconazole,a“imidazole”derivative,is charaterised by its ready absorption,nontoxicity, high efficacy,broad spectrum as well as being applicable to both superficial and deep mycoses. This artical reported cutaneous fungus infection over 104 sites in 66 cases with treated with this agent.The results are cure in 53（50.9%）,marked improvement in 48（46.1%）,and improvement in 3（3%）,the rate of marked improvement being 97% and rate of effectiveness 100%. Besides,following treatment direct microscopic examination for fungal element（mycelia）became negative in 76.7%.Certain minor untoward reactions occurred in 9 cases of 66 cases,with a rate of 0.61%.On the other hand,two cases showed abnormal liver function tests making the total side effect rate being is 0.9%.Another disadvatage is its high cost.Newer antifungal agents. therefore,should be developed.
