Abstract:
Objective:To observe the effect of CGRP in the pathogenefic mechanism of bronchial asthma.
Methods:The experimental canine allergic bronchial asthma was induced with Ascaris ovum extract antigen. The CGRP in dog plasma and BALF was measured by radioimmunoassy.
Results:The plasma CGRP decreased significantly 1 hour after asthma was evoked, and the CGRP in BALF also significantly decreased at 1 and 2 hours compared with that before evocation or immediately after evocation. These tendencies of change were probably related to the increase of the combination rate of CGRP receptor.
Conclusion:The observation suggests that the neurogenic inflammatory response may be involved in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma.
