Abstract: Objective To analyze the types of blood cultured positive pathogens and equipment alarm time of their growth. Methods A BacT/Alert 3D automatic blood culture system was used to retrospectively collect the results of 3 035 cultured blood samples.The types of pathogens growing in aerobic and anaerobic bottles and equipment alarm time of their growth were analyzed. Results Five hundred and ninety-six Gram-positive bacteria,608 bacterial and 55 candidal strains were isolated from the 3 035 cultured blood samples with Gram-positive and negative bacteria and Candida accounted fro 59.1%,32.6%,and 8.3%,respectively.The positive culture rate for the pathogens in aerobic and anaerobic bottles and both was 16.2%,4.3%,and 23.3%,respectively.The positive alarm rate of BacT/Alert 3D automatic blood culture system for blood infection caused by pathogens was 54.6%,84.5%,and 95.2 %,respectively in 24,48 and 72h. Conclusion Culture of bacteria in both aerobic and anaerobic bottles can increase the positive blood culture rate of bacteria.Alarm of blood infection caused by common pathogens can be obtained from the alarming system in 5 days.
