Abstract:
Objective To study the feasibility of transumbilical single-site laparoscopic surgery for tumors in women.
Methods Laparoscopic single-site surgery was performed in 2 patients in January 2010.One of them underwent laparoscopic singlesite decollement of ovarian teratoma, the other underwent laparoscopic single-site total hysterectomy for hysteromyoma. The abdominal cavity was exposed through an incision with three 5mm-long puncture outfits.
Results The operation was successful with no complications such as bleeding. No significant scar was observed on the surface of umbilicus after operation.
Conclusion Transumbilical single-site laparoscopic surgery is safe and feasible for tumors in women with a more obvious cosmetic and minimally invasive effect than routine laparoscopy.
