Abstract:
Objective To investigate difference of Prothrombin time derived fibrinogen compared to Clauss Fibrinogen in clinical samples.
Methods Plasma fibrinogen level in 137 patients was measured by Clauss assay and PT-derived assay, respectively.Fibrinogen level measured by Clauss assay was further divided into <1.99g/L,2-2.99g/L,3-4g/L and >4g/L,and analyzed by Student t test and correlation analysis, respectively.
Results The fibrinogen level measured by PT-derived assay was higher than that measured by Clauss assay(P<0.05).
Conclusion PT-derived assay cannot replace Clauss assay in measuring fibrinogen in clinical settings.Clauss assay is more suitable for the clinical diagnosis and treatment.
