Abstract:
This paper reports 5 cases of complicating anastomotic arterial fistula following esection for carcinoma of the esophagus, with a review of the pertinent literatare. There were ales and 1 female. The tumors located in the lower third in all cases. The patients had nastomosis under the aortic arch. The hemorrhage occurred from 15 to 22 days postoperatively. here was an warning hemorrhage in general, in all patients the interval between hemorrhage and eath of the pa- tient varing from 1 to 7 days. Only three underwent autopsy. The clinical haracters, diagnostic methods, surgical treatment procedure and preventive measures are iscussed.
