Abstract:
Objective To describe the characteristics of perioperative care of patients with malignant ventricular arrhythmia during treatment with implantable cardioverter defibrillator(ICD).
Methods Twenty patients with malignant ventricular arrhythmia were treated with ICD.Before treatment with ICD,effective psychological care was provided for the patients. The patients were closely monitored by ventricular fibrillation(VF)defibrillation threshold testing during operation.Guidance or directions were provided when they were discharged from hospital.
Results ICD was successfully implanted in the 20 patients without complications due to inappropriate care. The patients were regularly followed up for 1-13 months, during which no lead dislocation and death occurred.
Conclusion Individualized perioperative care and regular follow-up of patients with malignant ventricular arrhythmia during targeting treatment with ICD can encourage the patients and their families to receive ICD treatment, prevent sudden death, and improve their quality of life.
