Abstract:
Objective To study how to prevent and control the incidence of reactions to total parenteral nutrition(TPN)transfusion.
Methods Thirty-one patients who had reactions to TPN transfusion reported by 20 clinical departments in 2007-2009 were analyzed.
Results The main causes for reactions to TPN transfusion were drugs, patient constitution, and environmental factor, etc.
Conclusion Rational use of drugs, drug compatibility, strict aseptic manipulation, monitoring and management of standard venous transfusion, and improvement in infusion and dispensing conditions are the keys to the reduction of reactions to TPN transfusion.
