Abstract:
Among a total of 2535 cases of autopsy done in our hospital from October 1954 to March 1983 140 cases of cholelithiasis were found, the incidence of cholelithiasis being 7.02%(140/ 1993,excluding infants who diedwithin one month after birth)There were 94 men and 46 women whose ages ranged from 36 days to 93 years. It was found that there was a tendency of increasing incidence of this condition with the advancing age,the incidence in of patients ages under 20 years for example, being only 1.33%.while in those older than 80 years being as high as 23.8%,The majority of patients were made, especiallp in cases of cirrhosis of liver, perhaps this is due to the prevalence of autopsy done in males in this series of patients.
