Abstract:
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of domestic expanded polvtetrafluoroethylene (e-PTFE) membrane on periodontal guided tissue regeneration (GTR).
Methods: The periodontal defects of 10 dog teeth treated with e-PTFE were investigated for three monthes, and compared with the contrals (7 teeth).
Results: The periodontal guided tissue regeneration in the treated group were significant higher than those in the control group (
P<0.05), but they did not recovered to the clinical attachment level at the end of third month.
Conclusion: Our study indicatis that e-PTFE membranes seem to be possible to produce the GTR in the replacement of periodontal defects.
