Abstract:
Objective To study the single nucleotide polymorphisms of rs4334089 in vitamin D receptor(VDR) gene between outstanding athletes and non-athletes,to analyze the clinical biochemical value for the outstanding athletes,and to find whether there is any statistical significance among these athletes.
Methods The outstanding athletes were divided into three different genotype groups. Primers of rs4334089 were designed and synthesized. Genotyping was performed on the GenomeLab SNPstream genotyping system. Hitachi 7600 analyzing system was used to detect the biochemical values of athletes.
Results A statistical difference was observed in AA,AG and GG genotypes at rs4334089 in athletes and non-athletes(
χ2=9.802 2,P=0.007 4). However,there was no statistical difference in A and G genotypes(
χ2=3.357 6,P=0.066 9). There was a statistical difference in the biochemical values of Cr and Mg in athletes with AA,AG and GG genotypes.
Conclusion Single nucleotide polymorphisms of VDR are associated with the performance of athletics. Clinical biochemical values are different for athletes with different genotypes.
