Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the quantity of five kinds of antomicrobial agnets priscribed yearly from 1994 to 2003 and the resistance of Pseudomonas aerugonosa, and analyze the correlation between them.
Methods: Susceptibility test to antimicrobial agnets was performed by disk diffusion method and analysed by WHONE 5.3.The correlation between DDDS and the resistance were analyzed using statistics.
Results: The percentage of resistance of Pseudomonsa aeruginosa to the five drugs increased with years. The increase of resistance was more than 12.5% for each antimicrobial agent compared result from 1994 with that from 2003.The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between the resistance and DDDS of imipenem and ciprofloxacin. The consumption of imipenem and ciprofloxacin is also related to the resisitance of Pseudomonsa aeruginosa to piperacillin.
Conclusion: The correlation between the use of imipenem and ciprofloxacin and their resistance in Pseudomonsa aeruginosa strains, also revealed an association between imipenem and ciprofloxacin consumption and resistance to piperacillin.
