Abstract:
Objective: To determine whether isoflurane induced myocardial protection is mediated by adenosine receptor subtype A 1.
Methods: Five groups (
n=8) of isolated rat hearts were studied in the Langendorff apparatus The hearts were subjected to 30min global ischemia and 120min reperfusion DP, EDP, LV+dp/dt max and LV dp/dt min were recorded and analyzed after administrating isoflurane and (or) adenosine receptor antagonist (DPCPX).
Results: Isoflurane significantly decreased EDP and improved the recoveries of DP, LV+dp/dt max and LV dp/dt min during reperfusion compared with control groups(
P<0 05) DPCPX administrated before or after the global ischemia couldn′t attenuate the protection of isoflurane (
P >00 05).
Conclusion: Isoflurane enhances the post ischemic functional recovery of isolated rat heart and A 1 receptors are not involved in isoflurane induced myocardial protection
