Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of reconstructed bile duct blood flow after arterio-portal shunt on hepatohilar bile duct, liver function and apoptosis of cholangiocytes.
Methods Forty-five rats were randomly divided into control group(A),hepatic artery ligation group(B),and arterio-portal shunt group(C),15 rats in each group.Pathological change in hepatohilar bile duct was observed with HE staining, serum ALP and GGT level was measured, and apoptosis of cholangiocytes was detected,3 and 7 days and 1 month after operation, respectively.
Results No change was observed in hepatohilar bile duct of group A.Cytoplasmic vacuolization of bile duct epithelial cells occurred 3 days after operation in group B.Hyperplastic reaction was found in bile duct wall with cytoplasmic vacuolization 7 days after operation. The pathological changes disappeared 1 month after operation. No cytoplasmic vacuolization and hyperplastic reaction occurred in bile ducts of group C,with the exception of cellular edema on day 3 after operation. No significant difference was found in serum ALP and GGT level among the 3 groups. No apoptosis of cholangiocytes was observed.
Conclusion Arterio-portal shunt can repair the hepatohilar bile duct by ligating the hepatic artery.
