Effect of needles heated in soft tissue on angiogenesis after chronic skeletal muscle injury in rats

Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of needles heated in soft tissue on angiogenesis after chronic skeletal muscle injury in rats. Methods Thirty-six Wistar rats with chronic soft tissue injury were randomly divided into control group(group A) and heated needle group(group B),18 rats in each group.Angiogenesis in repaired tissue was observed on days 1,7 and 14,respectively,after treatment with needles heated in soft tissue. Results No significant difference was found in angiogenesis between the two groups 1d after treatment with needles heated in soft tissue(P>0.05).However,the angiogenesis level was significantly higher in group B than in group A 7 and 14d after treatment with needles heated in soft tissue(P<0.01). Conclusion Needles heated in soft tissue can increase the angiogenesis after chronic skeletal muscle injury and promote the repair of injured soft tissue.
