Imaging diagnosis of tortuous innominate artery in the aged (A study of 1034 cases)

  • Abstract: A tortuous innominate artery frequently buckles to the right and widens the upper ediastinum. This condition can make the diagnose of right upper mediastinal or right apical ung mass. Two cases underwent right thoractomy with a preoperative diagnosis of neoplasm. 1034 ases, 865 males (83.66%), 169 females (16.34%), were investigated imaginologically. The age aged from. 30 to 94 years, with 674 cases over 60 years. There were 4 types in shape. The idening of the right upper mediastinum caused by this lesion. The pertinent problems discussed ere: (1) age and sex incidence; (2) imaging characteristics; (3) relation between imaging and linical and laboratory data; (4) the diagnostic programmes.
