Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the reliability and feasibility of the CAPD based on the comparison between two methods of therapy,i.e.the CAPD and the IHD,so as to provide clinical experience of CAPD treatment for the CRF patients who are difficult to seek medical advice or have financial difficulties or are unsuitable for the IHD treatment. Methods: Collecting the medical records of 43 CRF patients who ever accepted treatment in our hospital from December 1995 to December 2002 and classifying them into groups CAPD and IHD.Measuring kidney function,ion concentration and clotting time before and after treatment every week and recording variations of biotic characteristics every hour during treatment. Results: No obvious difference appears for the two groups of patients in respects of BUN and Scr. Conclusion: The IHD is superior to the CAPD in toxin solute purge ratio and both these two therapy methods are effective in curing the CRF.
