Abstract:
Objective To study the characteristics of different personality types of pilots of modified high performance aircrafts during somatoscopy in order to provide the evidence for their psychological assessment,health education and intervention strategy.
Methods Personality types of pilots of modified high performance aircrafts and trainees were compared using the Chinese version of revised Myers Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI).
Results The scores of extroversion(E),sense(S),thinking(T),and judgment(J) were higher than those of introversion(I),notice(N),feeling(F),perceive(P) in the two groups.The number of Pilots with ESTJ personality was the greatest followed by those with ESFJ,ISTJ and INTP personality.The number of pilots and trainees with ESTJ personality was the highest.The number of pilots with INFP,INFJ and INTP personality and the number of trainees with INFJ,INFP and ENFJ personality were the lowest.There was a significant difference in distribution of score and personality based on MBTI(P<0.05).
Conclusion Senior pilots with MBTI personality can meet the requirements of flying much better than trainees.
