Abstract:
To get more theoretical knowledge of Puerarin for clinical practice, the effect of Puerarin on prostanoid release in acute early myocardial infarction and profusion was studied in dogs.
It was found that the group having Puerarin 40mg/kg had the strongest effect on 6keto-PGFl
α and TXB2 among the three groups. Puerarin 10mg/kg group had slight effect on them and Puerarin 20mg/kg group had effect in between. When Puerarin increased in dose, the amount of 6-keto-PGFl
α TXB
2 descended significantly (r=-0.69,P<0.01). EKG, myocardial ischemia and injury were improved, ectopic beat was reduced.
Puerarin seems to reduce the 6-keto-PGFl and TXB2 release and to improve the ischemic and damaged myocardium. Why myocardial ischemia and injury were relieved while 6-keto-PGFl
α was decreased? It was unknown yet.
