Abstract:
Objective To explore the relation between chronic stress and serum cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine levels.
Methods SCL-90,TCSQ and PSSS were used to assess the stress in 847 soldiers stationed in the gobi.Serum cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine levels were measured.U-test,linear regression and multiple stepwise regression were used to analyze the data.
Results The SCL-90 score and serum cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine levels were significantly higher in soldiers stationed in the gobi than in normal Chinese(P<0.01).The SCL-90 score was correlated with the serum cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine levels(P<0.05).Multiple stepwise regression confirmed that SCL-90 and norepinephrine were the influencing factors for epinephrine.
Conclusion Chronic stress may be related to increased serum epinephrine level.
