Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of participation of family members in early rehabilitation exercise on recovery of patients after arthroscopic operation for gluteal muscle contracture(GMC).
Methods Patients who underwent arthroscopic operation for GMC were randomly divided into experimental group(n=20) and control group(n=20).Family members participated in early rehabilitation exercise in experimental group but not in control group after operation.Self experience with rehabilitation exercise of patients after operation was recorded to evaluate the function improvement of their hip joint.
Results The patients in experimental group behaved more confidently when they faced to difficulty than those in control group(P<0.05).The scores of squatting down,genuflex,hip-flexion above 90°and overlap of the lower extremities were higher in experimental group than in control group(P<0.05).
Conclusion Participation of family members in early rehabilitation exercise of patients after arthroscopic operation for GMC can strengthen the confidence of patients to recover the function of their hip joint.
