Abstract:
Objective To study the expression of VEGF and NF-κB/p50 in cell-rich and matrix-rich polymorphous adenomas of salivary gland and it significance.
Methods Expressions of VEGF and NF-κB/p50 in 105 patients with polymorphous adenomas of salivary gland were detected with SP immunohistochemistry staining.
Results The expression level of VEGF and NF-κB/p50 was higher in cell-rich and matrix-rich polymorphous adenomas than in normal salivary gland(
P<0.05).The expression of VEGF was positively correlated with that of NF-κB/p50.
Conclusion The ability of polymorphous adenomas to form blood vessels and proliferation of cells increase with the increased number of cells in the tumor.Cell-rich polymorphous adenomas are easier to become malignant than matrix-rich polymorphous adenomas.
