Abstract:
Objective To investigate the correlation between unhealthy life styles and metabolic syndrome(MS) in middle-aged male populations with a high income.
Methods The life styles of 640 middle-aged males who underwent health examination in our center were investigated and the causes of their MS were analyzed.
Results Of the investigated 640 males,217(33.9%) suffered from MS.Irrational diet,excess engagement in social activities,and poor self control ability were found to be the major reasons for their unhealthy life styles.
Conclusion Middle-aged male populations with a high or medium income are at high risk of MS,thus health management should be strengthened according to the major reasons for their unhealthy life styles.
