Abstract:
Objective To investigate the sports-related biochemical indexes in saliva.
Methods Sports-related indexes in serum and saliva of 21 athletes were detected before and after sports using a 7600 Hitachi 7600 automatic biochemical analyzer and analyzed with CHISS software.
Results The biochemical indexes including Na, Ca, GOT, LDH, CO
2, UN, UA, Cr, and CYSC in serum were higher after sports than before sports (P<0.05). The correlation coefficient for Na, Cr, CO
2, UA, CYSC, UN, and LDH in serum and saliva was 0.997 9, 0.988 4, 0.982 3, 0.911 9, 0.783 6, 0.754 6, and 0.516 6, respectively (P<0.05).
Conclusion Biochemical indexes in saliva (Na, Cr, CO
2, UA, CYSC, UN, and LDH) can replace the corresponding indexes in serum to monitor the body functions of athletes.
