Abstract:
Objective To explore the new methods to alleviate the depression state in tumor patients.
Methods A total of 354 patients admitted to our hospital in January 2007-July 2008 were evaluated with Zung self depression rating scale based on their voluntariness. One hundred and forty-three patients in depression state were divided into control group and observation group. Patients in control group received routine mental nursing. Patients in observation group received α wave biofeedback therapy. The depression state was evaluated after therapy with Zung self depression rating scale and the effect of therapy on the disease was compared using the standard scores for depression state before and after interference.
Results The depression state in tumor patients was much more alleviated after α wave biofeedback therapy than that in those who received routine mental nursing(P<0.01).
Conclusion Alpha wave biofeedback therapy can effectively alleviate the depression state in tumor patients and improve their life quality.
