Abstract:
Objective: this study was to investigate the diabetic morbidity rate in the middlw and elder group for ten years.
Methods: Average 2430 persons were examined per year. Ages ranged 40 to 98 (average 63) years. The ratio of male to female was 17∶1. Patients of tape Ⅱ diabetes were treated outdepartment and followed up persistent.
Results: the morbidity rate of diabetes was increased from 5.9% to 16.8% during ten years. The highest rate was in the age group of 61 to 70, for 20.0%. The new patients were more commonly found in the age group of 41 to 50, for 29.2%. Complications of diabetes, such as cardiopathy, renal lesions and ophthalmopathy, were also traced.
Conclusion: the diabetic morbidity rate was increased followed the ages up. The age group of 41 to 50 was the main emphasis to prevent diabetes and the group over 51 years was mainly pointed to avoid complication.
