Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the basic immune parameters of Chinese excellent athletes in order to provide effective training information.
Methods Percentages of T,B,and NK cell subpopulations from peripheral blood of athletes engaged in different athletics were detected by flow cytometry. The athletes were divided into different groups according to different athletics and compared with controls.
Results The percentages of CD3
+,CD3
+CD4
+,CD3
+CD8
+,CD3
-CD19
+ and CD3
-CD56+ cells in athletes were lower than those in controls(P<0.01). There was no difference in value of CD4/CD8 between the two groups. The percentages of CD3
+ and CD3
+CD4
+ T lymphocytes in groups B and C were significantly higher than those in group A(skill event group) (P<0.01). The percentage of CD3
-CD19
+ lymphocytes in groups A and C was lower than that in group B(P<0.01). The percentage of CD3
-CD56+ lymphocytes in group C was lower than that in group A(P<0.01).
Conclusion Immune parameters are significantly lower in Chinese excellent athletes than in healthy persons, and are different in athletes engaged in different athletics.
