Abstract:
Transcatheter arterial iodized oil embolization combined with anticancer drugs was used to treat 103 cases of primary liver cancer. 11 cases died in the third month after this therapy.
According to the analysis of the causes of death, it seems that bilirubinemia, hepatic diabetes, spontaneous peritonitis, interstitial pneumionia, pulmonery embolism due to A-V fistula are contraindications for this therapy. If the therapatic intervention is prolonged, the prognosis is even worse. Depending on the clinical studies, it appears that indication for this therapy should always be considered.
