Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the experience of the examination and treatment of ocular trauma for PLA patients,in the Great Wenchuan Earthquake,with the portable slit lamps.Methods: From May 14 to July 14,2008,31 cases of ocular trauma were treated by disaster relief medical treatment team.All were examined and diagnosed with portable slit lamps.Among these cases,there were 17 cases of the cornea iron foreign body,9 cases of the cornea epithelium injury,5 cases of the hyphema.The cornea iron foreign bodies of 17 cases were removed with portable slit lamps.Results: The cornea iron foreign bodies and the siderotic ring were all taken out at the same time,17 cases;the cornea epithelium injuries were cured two days later,9 cases;the visual acuities,all 5 cases of the hyphema,were recovered 3 days after injury.Conclusion: In the area of the Great Wenchuan Earthquake,the medical materials were pinched for supplies.The portable slit lamps are simple but helpful for examination and treatment to ophthalmologists.The suggestion is that the portable slit lamps be routine disposition in the army medical treatment team.
