Abstract:
Objetive To study the intrinsic consistency and retest confidence in the Chinese version of Brief Pain Inventory(BPI-C) in cancer patients.
Methods Fifty cancer patients were enrolled in this study. The intrinsic consistency and retest confidence were tested in cancer patients using the BPI-C by experienced nurses independently in the morning and afternoon.
Results The Cronbach alpha coefficient of BPI-C was 0.954 and 0.958, respectively. The Cronbach’s alpha and intra-class correlation(ICC) coefficients of 12 items in the BPI-C were 0.947-0.961 and 0.774-0.89, respectively.
Conclusion The intrinsic consistency and retest confidence in BPI-C are rather good in cancer patients. The results of this study may provide reference for the use of BPI-C.
