Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of MR imaging for adrenal ganglioneuroma.
Methods MR imaging features and preoperative diagnosis of 7 patients with pathologically-proved ganglioneuroma were retrospectively analyzed.
Results Of the 7 patients,6 were diagnosed as benign tumor(neurogenic tumor in 4 patients and ganglioneuroma in 2 patients, respectively) and 1 as malignant tumor.Heterogeneous hyper-intensity signals with a linear or patchy hypointensity inside, moderate hyper-intensity signals, and iso-or hypo-intensity signals were found on T2WI in 5,1,and 1 patient, respectively.Homogeneous hyper-intensity signals and heterogeneous or iso-intensity signals were found on T1WI in 5 and 2 patients, respectively.Dynamic enhancement scanning showed no enhancement on arterial phase image in 5 patients, but mild heterogeneous enhancement on parenchymal phase image in 2 patients, and progressive enhancement on delayed image.
Conclusion MR imaging can reveal the characteristics of adrenal ganglioneuroma.
