Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the use of narcotic analgesics.
Methods Data on the use of narcotic analgesics in aged inpatients of our hospital during 2005-2008 were analyzed by defined daily dose(DDD).
Results The use of morphine injection ranked first during the past 3 years and increased yearly,followed by morphine sulfate-controlling tablets,transdermal fentanyl patches,and oxycodone hydrochloride controlling tablets.
Conclusion The use of narcotic analgesics in our hospital is basically in line with the principles in Guiding principles of three-step therapy for cancer.
