Abstract: Objective: To investigate the capacity of reaction for emergency in Beijing,analyze the influence factors and explore methods in order to resolving this problem.Methods: A survey on all the ambulances on-duty in Beijing from 17th Aug to 17th Sep 2006 was conducted by self-made questionnaires.Results: The average time of ambulance traveled for rescure in Beijing was 11.55 minutes,the average mileage is 5.82 km.There were statistically significant differences in terms of the areas and time respectively.Conclusion: The capacity of reaction for emergency in Beijing was far from being idea,both the reaction time and mileage of ambulance were too long.It is difficult to satisfy the needs of citizen for health,it is time for the relevant authorities to search for appropriate methods and solve this problem.
