Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the histological outcome of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction(ACLR) with tendon-knots autograft implant fixation.
Methods: Goats were chosen as the animal models.Tendon-knots were press-fitted in the bottleneck-like femoral tunnel as the autografts.Animals were killed at 4,8,12,16,and 24 weeks postoperatively for histological investigation.
Results: Histological studies showed incorporation between bone tunnel and tendon-knot graft became dense and mature 12 weeks after the operation.
Conclusion: ACLR with tendon-knot press-fitted fixation exhibited satisfied biological results. This research may provide valuable information on clinical application and postoperative rehabilitation.
